Walking + Nutrition
Hi neighbors! My name is Loretta Ramm and I have been an Oak Hills resident for 11 ½ years! My kids both attend Oak Hills Elementary, however, my oldest will be attending middle school in the fall (sigh-where has the time gone?).
I have taught preschool for many years and am passionate about health and fitness. I hold two certifications through the American Council on Exercise (ACE); one as a group fitness instructor and the other as a personal trainer. I was certified in 1995 and have worked part time in the fitness industry since then until having kids, at which time, I took a break from training clients. Although I was no longer formally training, I stayed active by running and walking. I ran countless short races and many half marathons, including training a group of friends for a half marathon many of whom had never ran or walked a half marathon before; it was an amazing experience to be a part of! I have completed a full marathon and hope to do another one someday!
Last summer I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and I am so excited to get back into my old lifestyle of healthier living! I am positive that it has helped me in my recovery and by getting back into fitness I know that my journey will be that much more successful!
Some of my very best friends I met during fitness classes, some as long as 25 years ago! I would love nothing more for others to share the same experience as I have with likeminded people.
HIIT, Boot Camp
Megan grew up in West Linn and has always been involved in athletics. She competed as a figure skater as a child, but quickly found her passion to lie elsewhere, with soccer. She played soccer through high school and picked up a number of other sports along the way: lacrosse, swimming, track and field, cross country and water polo. She captained her high school lacrosse team and coached swimming for two years at Oak Hills during her summers home from college.
Megan attended the University of Portland where she pursued a degree in Biology and neuroscience with the intention of attending medical school. During her four years at UP, she played and captained the woman's water polo team. After graduation, Megan worked as a pharmacy technician at OHSU and was admitted to their pharmacy doctorate program. Soon thereafter, she got married and became pregnant with her son, James. Once James was born, she realized that her true passion was raising James.
She discovered boot camp classes when James was 6-months-old and fell in love after the first class! After about a month she decided to pursue her ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification and began the process of becoming an instructor. Currently Megan teaches boot camp classes, run training classes, and aquatic fitness classes. She is looking forward to getting to know the Oak Hills community even better through teaching both boot camp and HIIT classes!
Molly Penna is a newer certified fitness instructor (since spring of 2016). She is a mom of three beautiful children who are active in lacrosse, baseball and soccer. She has a fun-loving spirited personality and loves to laugh. Come join her this fall as she brings that spirit to Oak Hills Rec!
Vickey brings over 15 years of fitness, group exercise, physical education, dance, and gymnastics experience to Oak Hills. She has created and implemented multiple community fitness programs, including boot camp designed for people with early onset Parkinson’s for the Brian Grant Foundation the youth health program curriculum at the Serendipity Center. New to Oak Hills, Vickey has a daughter at Oak Hills Elementary and is working towards her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification with a focus on kid’s yoga and level one Pilates Reformer certification. She also recently became Barre certified and is excited to bring new fitness programs to Oak Hills!
